In the Dark;
And then that morning, some of the kidnapped in Somarium and some of the kidnapped in Vatheon found themselves again drawn to another location, another world, perhaps. They would wake up, scattered amongst the ruins, Vatheon architecture colliding with Somarium’s in a decrepit, mismatched way.
Those originating from Somarium might recognize the castle that had once been in the sky from the shadowy corridors. Those from Vatheon will surely see hints of the church in the columns and the curving doorways.
But regardless, it seems somehow they are now inside--and they are trapped there.
Opening doors leads to more shadowy corridors, monsters of rotting fish and shadowy, deadly noctaere. Some parts of the flooring are rotting as well, crumbling underneath the slightest of weight to reveal dark, cold, black water beneath.
Watch your step in this strange place--it seems to be hostile. Thankfully, it looks like you’ve got help, and from another world.

Welcome welcome Sommunists and Vatheonites to the crossover portion of this week!
As the signal post above indicates, everyone will be arriving in a mix-matched setting apart from Vatheon and Somarium which resembles a mash up of the Church and the Floating Castle, only now they’re trapped inside. All SFCs and Dreamberries appear to be missing as well. Everything will be face-to-face interaction here, but thankfully that’s not hard, as everyone is trapped in the same place. They will no longer be in Somarium or Vatheon, so you cannot post or tag things in game from 4/28 to 4/29. ICly that is how long the crossover will last, though backtagging is always acceptable and encouraged! Watch out for the monsters, and feel free to post and mingle around!
Please use this format to title your thread, so people can know what to tag:
Character Name | Game Played In | Open/Closed
More information can be found, again, at the plotting post, and questions can be asked here!
Most of all, have fun!

[SHUDDER. Even Pip looks irritated at the memory.]
Vatheon's a city under the ocean...the story we're given when we arrive is that we were brought there by the god in the coral to maintain the barrier around the city with our energy. But then it turned out later that we were actually brought there for the purpose of observation when we undergo curses by scientists who may or may not be still around. Yes, the curses even affected you.
no subject
more importantly, what the hell, they were experimented on??]
What kind of curses? And were you ever told why you were being observed or what the curses were for?
no subject
...[Siiigh.] Listen. I'm going to be honest with you because I know you'd be honest with me too--those curses run the gamut from silly to dangerous, and...I still don't know why it happened, but you disappeared one day and reappeared on the island completely insane. And you...choked me to death when I refused to follow you back into the fog.
no subject
I...what!?
[he...choked... he couldn't believe it. he refused to believe it. he knew Maka wouldn't lie but that still—]
That's impossible, I would never do anything like that to you!
no subject
[Inhumanly strong and had no sense of mind to limit yourself.
Say it, say it fast, he's going to start drawing up monster allegories in his head if you don't.]
You couldn't control yourself, okay?
no subject
How could I not—
[stops short and takes a deep breath. no, he could see it. he had succumbed to the power of Madness in the Book of Eibon back home, he had seen Somarium's own power to affect others' minds. it really wasn't so much of a stretch to imagine a curse affecting him to such an extent either.]
What happened afterward?
no subject
[Less sarcastically this time, Maka.]
When I came back you didn't want to talk to me. Then you went to a coma and I thought you were going to leave like Soul did, so all I could do was wait until you woke up. When you did, we talked and...I guess things weren't quite the same after that.
no subject
I'm...sorry, Maka. I know what happened wasn't really me, [in some strange sense.] but regardless I feel like I owe you an apology. I know it doesn't change anything, but...
[slight look of helplessness.]
If you hold it against me, I understand. But if there's anything I can do to make amends while we're here, please tell me.
no subject
[Helplessness? How convenient, that's exactly how she feels right now.]
I wish you wouldn't worry about fixing everything all the time. It's up to me to fix it, not you.
no subject
[the sense of helplessness is depressing.]
But even so, I can't just do nothing, either. If anything we should be working together, especially if in a world such as that. No, whatever problems I had, they were of my own fault. I'm sure you did all that you could.
no subject
[Well.
Shut up.
She's been alone for weeks now. Pip's not good at the hugging thing.]
no subject
You want me to what?
[this conversation has been full of him repeating things in questions.
though no seriously. Maka asking him for a hug?]
no subject
--What do you think I just said, moron?
no subject
he still didn't really understand why, but if it helped then...well.]
no subject
But if she admitted that, he'd pitch a fit about his manly pride or whatever it was boys talked about whenever they got miffed.
So he gets...a...pat on the shoulder.]
Don't worry about it anymore, okay? Just think of it like a bad dream. After all, I doubt you're going to see me again any time soon, but the other me that's with you won't know this happened at all.
no subject
For all I know, all of this may really be a dream. Given how Somarium works and past events, I honestly wouldn't be surprised. [turning to look around them.] I'm still trying to figure out where we are.
no subject
[A sigh and a quick look back to see what Pip's up to.] Anyway, as for where we are it looks sort of like a church that was found in Vatheon's ruins at one point, but--Pip! Don't eat that! Come over here! [Silly foxthings and their attempts to consume fish corpses.]
But the church wasn't so--so--eh...[haphazard. Haphazard.] It didn't look like this, either. Although the undead fish monsters coming out of it in droves isn't a new thing.
no subject
he is going to look at Pip and... ....!!!]
That isn't good for you—! [he is actually going over there and picking the Eevee up. bad Pip. bad.] Really, who trained this creature?
[sighs. but he had been thinking about what she said about the church and the mention of fish...
...hold the phone. turning around (with Pip still in hands) he studies the architecture more closely.]
I encountered a few noctaere earlier—creatures that are native to Somarium. And you say these fish creatures and some of part of this building reminds you of a place from Vatheon. [walking toward a wall where it was clear the architecture clashed together—where one started and the other began.]
Maka, I don't think this is just your church. I think a building from Somarium is also a part of it. In addition you said Vatheon was an underwater city with special coral, correct? Were there fairies or tattoo marks as well?
no subject
But...yeah, we have tattoos on us upon arrival, and there were fairies with us at one point but then they all exploded. I think they were for observation since they never did anything but follow us around.
no subject
Pip...right. [and Pip makes a happy sound at hearing his name. ...d'aaaaw. or so Kid would feel if he actually, you know, did. for the moment he's just still wondering how to deal with it.]
The fairies explo—[pinches the bridge of his nose.] Believe me, I think many wouldn't mind if they did. For the past week everyone from Somarium has been trapped in an underwater city with half of them turning into mermen and mermaids. We've also had fairies that tend to talk nonstop. They had some use as they actually informed us that we were in some city and how to go about it, but otherwise they were an annoyance.
[pause.]
Do you have any type of communicator device in Vatheon?
no subject
[And if it's as he's said and things have been switched up...]
But it turned into something that looked more like a phone...that's when it started broadcasting our dreams. So it looks like the worlds we're in have intersected and--and switched places!
[BRILLIANT, HOLMES.]
This doesn't fit the pattern for every other strange thing that's happened in Vatheon, though.
no subject
We had the Starfish Communicators instead of the Dreamberries—the phones you had.
Somarium has had...interesting changes before. The one I personally experienced was when everything seemed to go back in time to the 1920s. But to connect to another world...? [absentmindedly reaches up to pet Pip as he thinks.] Do you know how everyone comes into Vatheon?
no subject
[This is weird and it's certainly not getting any clearer.]
no subject
Apparently Somarium is part of a planet called Hypnosia. This planet is able to connect to every world and universe through dream energy and dream gates. This dream energy can connect to people from other worlds while they are sleeping or in some kind of meditative or unconscious state. Once the connection is made, the person is essentially pulled into the world.
However, those who are in Somarium also exist within our own worlds at the same time, but our actions in either location do not affect the other.
[sighs.] It's a complicated situation that's hard to explain, and I'm still trying to figure out how it works. But it does make me wonder if somehow the power of Vatheon's coral and Hypnosia's dream energy collided and created this strange nexus.
no subject
[Her head is pounding right now.]
But for the record, the explanation we're given for our time spent in Vatheon is that time is stopped from the point that we're taken from until we go back home. Since there are...apparently several different timelines existing at the same time, this gets about as complicated as you'd expect. How on Earth Vatheon's hold on the timelines got mixed up with Somarium's dream energy, though, I can't even begin to comprehend.
